(Looking at HIG-1.0) Should the HIG includes something like the following,
appended to the Primary Window->Title discussion?
Replace:
"For document-based applications, use Document Name as the window title."
With:
"For document-based applications, use Document Name as the window title. If
the document has been modified within the application since it was last
loaded or saved, append "(modified)" to the title."
This feels to me like a Good Thing To Do; the user gets an extra visual cue
about the state of the app, and reassurance that they're going to get a "Save
Confirmation Alert" if they close it.
A (very) quick survey of the apps I've got built on my machine:
- gedit appears to do this already
- gnumeric doesn't
- mrproject doesn't
Thoughts? Perhaps a recommendation?
