Thanks. I think "side pane" is the best name for this component.
It is usually better to name a component by its function rather than its
location. It seems the function of this component has a lot to do with
navigation, so you might also want to consider "navigation pane".
However, more functionality may be added to the pane which is not related
to navigation.
On the whole, I would recommend "side pane" for Galeon.
