  (OS X here)
  Option-click is the same as plain click, it selects the item you're
clicking on, unselecting everything else.
  Range selection is done with Shift.
  Shift-double click changes the selection in the same way as it would
with Shift-click and then opens the remaining selected files.
  Command-click does discontinous selection.
  Ctrl-click opens the context menu for the item you're clicking on (not
the selected ones) without changing the selection.
