i would really like to have somekind of graphical CLI too...

reason:

if you don't want to see the content of the files (this means pictures),
NOTHING beats the norton commander style file management .

yes, maybe nautilus is easier for the newbies, but when you want to move
around a LOT of files, then midnight-commander is much more powerful..

that much about moving/organizing files..

and about opening files?

what can be faster than starting to type the name of the folder,
pressing tab, completing the name and so on... i haven't found anything
faster yet.

that's why imho it's always a good idea to explore different methods
(like this graphical CLI).
