Dear all,
I have the pleasure to announce to you today the release of version 0.2
("Basil") of the Emperor file manager.
Emperor is a Commander-style (“orthodox”) file manager for the GNOME
desktop. It is written in Vala and, unlike similar programs such as
GNOME Commander or mc, it uses GIO in order to integrate with the GNOME
desktop and to take advantage of GVfs-FUSE.
New in version 0.2:
* Image preview pane
* Launch Terminal and Meld from inside Emperor
* Translated into Czech and German
* Many new keyboard shortcuts for increased efficiency
* Bug fixes
You can download Emperor from http://code.jollybox.de/emperor.xhtml
Emperor is free software subject to the terms of the GNU General Public
License, version 3 or later.
I would like to remind the press that Emperor is in no way officially
connected to the GNOME project and is never going to replace Nautilus -
there was some confusion surrounding the initial release last year.
Best wishes
Thomas Jollans
