The comments included in the bug report mention:

  > In the meantime you can tell people to add "-Dfpclassify=class"
  > to CFLAGS (I've not tested this workaround, but it ought to work.)

Adding "-Dfpclassify=class" to CFLAGS didn't work for me, at least not 
on AIX 5.1, but the code change for trionan.c is easy enough to apply 
and did the trick.
