The opportunity to strengthen Linux is open to anyone who wants to do it.
The goal of GNOME is to strengthen the X environment in general, not just
on Linux. The people here are working to develop GNOME, not the Linux
kernel. You're more than welcome to work with kernel developers to provide
functionality like this into Linux, and at that time VFS is almost certain
to support it.

Can this thread die finally? =)
