try running rpm -K --nopgp *.rpm that will atleast tell you weather the rpms
are good or kurupt other than that make sure you have nothing that is using
the rpm db when you try to install a package. if the rpms are ok it will
give a message like checksum md5 ok i think i can't remember been a long
time sence i have installed or used rpm "i prefer compiling"
