Gnome Media Player

I'm sure people have brought this up but linux and gnome are in great
need of a "Gnome Media Player" that uses bonobo, can play mpegs, divx,
avi, etc..... It would be nice to have a single player that can play
everything rather than having install 4 or so different players that
require nasty installations. Divx can be done with the help of OpenDivx,
mpegs with smpeg, avi with avifile, etc... It would just be nice to
unite it all in one nice player called Gnome Media Player or something.
Are there any projects doing this? If so, are they making any progress?
