Might not have anything to do with it, but note that in GNOME 2.2 at
least, "File Types and Programs" have somewhat overlapping functionailty
with "Preferred Appliactions". Start with
Applications -> Preferences -> Filetypes and programs
(that's the menu path on a Red Hat setup; default GNOME may be
different), then open "Internet Services".
