That is, unfortunately, a very complicated thing to do in a secure and
proper fashion.  The copy process must be started as root, but still
somehow have access to the VFS information of the user (where you are
copying from and to, authentication/network information of the volume(s)
you are operating on, etc).

Wouldn't be a bad idea, although it could be hard to keep in sync given
the development speed of GNOME.  Popping up a copy of the User's Guide
on first login might be a start.
