Default regex pattern for quoted text

Wouldn't it be better to use the following regex pattern instead of the
current default:

	^(([ \t]|[A-Z])*[|>:}#][ \t])+

or in the very least make it a user definable pattern via preferences?

Otherwise alot of other non-quoted inline text gets highlighted, especially
unified and context diffs.
