Are you sure the message text wrapped?  I opened (and closed) a very
similar sounding incident in bugzilla last weekend.  I later went and
looked at the actual message sent and found that it did not in fact
contain wrapped lines, though balsa always showed it to me that way.
There doesn't seem to be a preferences item for turning off wrap in
the message viewing window.
