This message was misleading and dues to the fact that the composed 
message does not have any user-defined headers. I made user_hdrs 
silently return null in this case, having no user-defined headers is 
not an error.

I was somewhat more elaborate here but the patch seems to work just 
fine. I commited it to CVS.
