Hello,

  I have seen this. I had no explanation unti I complained about a number 
of issues. One of the suggested fixes I received corrected that problem, 
too.

What needs to be done is to remove -lc from the list of dependencies in 
/usr/lib/libpspell.la. Relink and all is fine.
