For me it's the way to check out a message from IMAP server. But, you
are right, this feature isn't pivotal.
IMHO the header order is somewhat a matter of taste...
No. I mean, yes, but that doesn't mean there aren't any facts about it:
"From:" stands in standard letter papers above addressee.
"To:" and "Cc:" are both receivers, so they should be grouped.
"Subject:" stands in standard paper letters beneath the addressee.
This leads to following layout:
From:
To: \
Cc: |-> Addressees group
Bcc: /

Didn't try Sylpheed since a while, and I don't have a running one
here. Maybe you can provide a screenshot that illustrates this idea a
little more?
Yes, of course. See attachments.
It might be an idea to replace the icon view by a table,
I mean, of course the icon has its upside: If it delivers an accurate
thumbnail of the attached file. Images, PDF, HTML, you know that from
Nautilus. But since it wastes too much space, I wouldn't follow this
idea. Probably, in distant future, you can deliver a mouse-over-popup
showing a thumbnail of the content. But that's no priority.
First, each identity needs it's own SMTP configuration. There are some
reasons. The first is privacy, another is the fact, that some (my!) SMTP
Hmmm, why privacy?
Because I don't want to use my current companys SMTP for sending an
application to applicants be_my_next_company com
Sure, it's unwise to do this from within the current companies network
at all, but it's just an example. If I send as "joacher" via gmx.de, I
want to use mail.gmx.de as SMTP server, it's a matter of consistency,
too. And, just true for common dialup IPs, I don't want to reveal my
employer in every newsgroup. At home I want to be a privat person, which
is not publishing the fact that he is working at company.net or studying
at tu-bs.de with every mail he sends.
