There still are cases where ordering has to be guaranteed, though - e.g.
the parallel thread regarding starting the settings daemon first, so as
to allow the theme prefs. to be set before any apps are launched. Or are
you planning to "bless" some of the core GNOME components (e.g. settings
daemon) and tack user selections on at the end?
