Jody, if you don't mind - could you please take the version of gswitchit from CVS (last release of libxklavier is OK) - I put the new preview implementation there (as we discussed on GUADEC). The new preview is not really stable (I still have to figure out whether it is my problem or unstable bonobo) but at least it will give you right L&F impression.
