I'm very much of the latter opinion, too. Evolution is free software, and should not be blocked because of copyright assignment. My concerns are merely in the future of it - what if the copyright holders turn evil, get bought, or otherwise make things worse that would force someone to fork. I do not believe, under any circumstances, that any kind of free software that fits into the GNOME Desktop should be blocked because of copyright assignment.
