Re: Evince as universal "Viewer"



IIRC this approach was tried and rejected previously with ggv/gpdf
(?). I don't recall the exact application, but we had an application
that was basically nothing more than a shell for bonobo viewer
components. Given a bonobo viewer component, it could display the
document in that shell.

Given that displaying an image is not that difficult and evince could
probably do it fine, i'd hate to see us go back to one-app-fits-all
for a document viewer.

Simple example: eog has "rotate image" functionality. Does such
functionality belong in a PDF viewer?
