I wasn't saying it's a big issue, but the question was whether there was a difference between copying normal files and audio files with Nautilus. Here is one. You also don't have to set profiles for copying normal files.

There could also be a "Raw" audio profile, for extracting a WAV out of the CD, without encoding.

Perhaps FLAC would fit somewhere in between?
