gnome-terminal fix: bug 98715

Since there is no gnome-terminal maintainer AFAIK, I am going to post
this here for peer review.

I have posted a fix to bug 98715: which is in regards to environment
variables not getting transferred to the factory for use when exec-ing
the shell.

It would be great if someone could review this so that it can get
committed.
