I'm having a problem with gst-player as installed from garnome 0.19.3 on
Mandrake 8.2. It's a completely clean, first time install of garnome.
gstreamer, gst-player and gst-plugins all installed cleanly, and I can
see the hermes (colorspace) plugin in
~/garnome-0.19.3/gstreamer/gst-plugins/work/gst-plugins-0.4.2/ext/hermes
but each time I try and start gst-player I get a stop dialog with the
message "The colorspace plug-in could not be found. This plug-in is
essential for gst-player. Please install it and verify that it works by
running 'gst-inspect colorspace'".
gst-inspect colorspace gives the following output:
INFO (26441: 0) Initializing GStreamer Core Library version 0.4.2
INFO (26441: 0) CPU features: (00000000) MMX SSE
registry: loaded user_registry in 0.000179 seconds
(/home/garnome/.gstreamer/registry.xml)
registry: loaded global_registry in 0.091102 seconds
(/home/garnome/garnome/etc/gstreamer/registry.xml)
no such element or plugin 'colorspace'
I did check the archive this time so I hope this isn't an FAQ. Any
suggestions?
Best, Darren
