Slackware 8.1's X broken?

Morning

I had major problems with gnome-terminal throwing up errors (see my mail
from a few days ago). I finally replaced Slackware's X with the
distribution from xfree86.org and recompiled garnome. I have the feeling
that garnome now is much faster, all the fonts are correct and
gnome-terminal works like a charm.

Just my 0.02 euro
