Gnome Onscreen Keyboard does not start

Hello,

I have a problem with starting the Gnome Onscreen Keyboard: It simply reports 
"** ERROR **: Could not locate registry" --- and that's it.

I use SuSE 8.1 with KDE 3.0.4, kernel 2.4.19-4GB, gcc 3.2. As I normally do 
not use Gnome I had to figure out which libraries I need in order to install 
GOK. (I ended up installing Gnome completely (including all ...-devel 
packages), so can you please tell me which libraries/tools are needed for GOK 
to run?). I also needed to downgrade gettext (SuSE 8.1 has gettext 0.11.x, I 
downgraded to 0.10.40 from SuSE 8.0).

With these done configuration, compilation and installation succeeded. But 
when starting, GOK told me that it needs gconf2 and wants to be correctly 
installed. Durung the investigation I found out that the call to "make 
install" installed the configuration data to the home directory of the user 
"root". I used "gconftool-2 --install-schema-file gok.schemas" in order to 
create the configuration for my standard user. However, after I have done 
this, GOK does also not start.
