Yes, John, thanks for the info. When I tried to run garnome several months ago,
I did have problems with hanging processes. However, ctrl-alt-backspace or
ctrl-C or killing various processes from a root console until I got the one that
was hanging things usually did eventually clear the console; i don't think I had
to use reset once I figured this. but it can happen.
