Pressing Ctrl+F1 while an applet (or anything else with a tooltip) is
focused will force its tooltip to appear, and read out its contents--
pressing Ctrl+F1 again will hide the tooltip.
Having said that, it doesn't seem to work for the battery applet in my
build-- but that's presumably just a bug.
