There is a Debian project specifically for the EEEPC.

Indeed so, but the 900mhz CPU could be a problem. It has USB ports, and thus
would work well with a braille display. It is also very small and
light-weight.
On the other hand, the size of the keyboard may make it uncomfortable for
extended typing. My first impressions were that the keyboard wasn't
particularly difficult to type on, but as this was at a conference and the
particular EEE-PC in question had no access software installed, I didn't have
a chance to try it for long.
