please gimme a little bit more of informations:

mail me (not the list) your tnsnames.ora (to be found in
$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/)

mail me your glibc-version, kernel-version and the version of the
oracle-software you're using.

gimme information, if you are able to connect via sqlplus or other applications
or not.
