I'm trying to get a second desktop to display on a second
computer, and gnome-session segfaults on me. A: means on computer A, B:
is on computer B.
A: xinit &
A: export DISPLAY=A:0
A: ssh to computer B
B: gnome-session
If I do an xterm instead of gnome-session, this happens:
jberk:~$ xterm
socket: Invalid argument
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server
"jberk:10.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
I konw there is something wrong on my end, probably because I am running
a 2.2.x with a too-old libc, but gnome-session probably
shouldn't seg fault.
Here is a stack trace:
Starting program: /usr/local/gnome/bin/gnome-session
socket: Invalid argument
Gdk-ERROR **: an x io error occurred
