I've just subscribed that list...
I sent a message do the Debian Developers lists sometime ago, saying that I'm
doing an configuration tool too. Havoc told me to use that database you are
talking about. I told Havoc that I would do in ¨my way¨ and then turn in to the
database way. I have done something(almost done) to configure the printer, the
partitions (/etc/fstab) and the network  and a friend of mine is doing the
configurator for the Modem and lilo. 
I would like to know what you've done , so we can join what I've done and what
you've done and I would like to know if I can help you doing that, if possible.
If you want, you can mail me so I can send an snapshot of what I am doing...
