some of the things in the default session are dynamically calculated so it
would make it harder to make some sort of default session loader (however
it's on my todolist)

BTW: I just changed the default session around so you may want to check out
what's currently in CVS, and remove your .gnome/panel.d and be amazed (well
not really:)

the quicklaunch is not in the core, and doesn't properly follow size/orient
hints as far as I know (not that deskguide and tasklist do unfortunately)
