Ugh. Does it really have to keep getting BIGGER? It's already a huge memory hog - quick'n'dirty comparison time:

Sure it's not much of a difference, but if you have a big old bunch of terminals open at once (and I usually do), it gets kinda annoying to lose so much RAM to a gnome-terminal over an xterm for little extra functionality.
