Hi
More of a style query than a technical one. At various points, my app opens sub
windows for the user to enter data. So far I haven't been specifying a size for
the windows, so they popup at their smallest possible size and I've used the
window manager to force them to a larger size.
I've been thinking that it would probably be better to set them myself to a
reasonable size which users can then override with a window manager if they want
to as it prevents the need to resize the window much if you haven't got a size
stored.
How has this kind of issue been handled in the past? Would it make sense to open
the sub window at, say, 85% of the size of the main window, or fix it at some
arbitrary value? etc.
Stuff like this helps GNOME apps keep a consistant feel, so I want to get it
right.
Cheers,
Chris Jones
