Font install pb in gnome-print ?

Hi,

somebody in gnome-libs has reported problems with gnumeric not being able 
to find default fonts (and segfault). I experience the same problem
with fresh gnumeric/gnome-print from cvs.

It seems that gnome-print only contains default font metrics and not
font glyphs. Must they be installed in order for gnome-print to work
(testprint segfaults too) ?
Where can they be found ?
