gnome-animation widget

can someone please point me in the direction of a program using the
gnome-animation widget. I have written my own, and compiled the test program
that comes with gnome-libs. I can compile both with no errors and get no run
time errors, but when I run the programs nothing is displayed. anyhelp would
be appreciated.
