corba object question

I have a corba server that I want to have it automaticly shut itself down
after a serten amount of inactivity. Does enyone know how to do it? It is
a pure orbit server and doesnt use gtk. Gtk would just slow it down. Is
there a function like the gtk_timer stuff in glib?
