System configuration...?

Hi there...

Is there a place in the gnome system for system configuration
applets? The control center docs explicitly state that system
configuration applets should not go in the control center, but is there
anywhere appropriate for system configuration applets or similar right
now? It seems an awful shame to have the control center but to be unable
to use the nice control center framework for system administration as
well...
