Autocompletion with Gtk_File_Selection

How can I get the functionality of the autocompletion
of GtkFileSelection without hacking the GtkFileSelection
to change everything to look as I need?
This is, to have a gtk_entry where I can attach callbacks
so for example the completion_requested signal returns
a list of available file/dirs.
