	But section 2b the GPL says:

licensed as a whole at no charge to all third parties under the terms of
this License.

	My understanding of that is as follows:

	Since the FSF will always use its copyright to license software
under the GPL, if you create a derived work--even if it's your own code to
begin with--you must still distribute that "derived work" under the GPL.

	So if you give your copyright to the FSF, it's the GPL way or the
highway.

	Can somebody contest this?  What, exactly, does their assignment
contract say (and is there a URL for it)?
