gspeech -> has it been abandoned?

I just grabbed gspeech from CVS and notice that it has not been worked
on since 1999-10-12 15:16:07 -> does anyone know about the status of
the project and where I can contact the authors for permission to
expand on it?


(If this is not the right place to ask, could someone please direct me to the
correct gtk+/gnome list to ask.)
