Problem compiling Bonobo 1.0.8

Title: Problem compiling Bonobo 1.0.8

I hope this is the right list to post this in.

I'm trying to compile Bonobo 1.0.8 on a RH71 (i386) system, but I'm getting this error:

/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc  -g -O2 -Wall -Wunused   -o bonobo-moniker-gunzip  bonobo-moniker-gunzip.o ../bonobo/            ../bonobo/         -rdynamic -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -loaf -lORBitCosNaming -lORBit -lIIOP -lORBitutil -lnsl -lgnomeprint -lgnomeui -lart_lgpl -lgdk_imlib -lSM -lICE -lgnome -lgnomesupport -lesd -laudiofile -ldb1 -lgdk_pixbuf -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule -lglib -ldl -lXext -lX11 -lm -lxml -lz

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/'
make[2]: *** [bonobo-moniker-gunzip] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/download/gnome/bonobo-1.0.8/monikers'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/download/gnome/bonobo-1.0.8'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

I do have the file "" and others like it in /usr/local/lib. Why is libtool looking in /usr/lib ?? I have imlib-1.9.11 installed.
