You basically have to install the usermode package (which isn't included on Debian because it depends on libpwdb0g which doesn't use PAM, Ximian packages it though). All in all, I wish we could find a good way to allow users logged in on the local machine to perform some actions which would require root access normally (things as simple as shutting down the machine). MacOS X has sudo installed by default, and configured that way. That could be a solution, but we would still have to rely on integrators of the Gnome desktop to make this option any useful. Or is there another way that I didn't think of ?
