How to setup default save location?

Hello!

I've been studying how to set the default open-file/save location to,
e.g. $HOME/documents, I've seen in 
/etc/gconf/schemas/desktop.schema has a

/schemas/desktop/standard/save-location-entry

entry but I failed to set it with gconftool-1 or gconftool-2 (both said
invalid key entry).

Could I know how to do the task? Thanks very much!!!
