Sasha is correct - this is not a template problem. It is actually a
very old jadetex problem with no answer in sight. It is unfortunate -
but there isn't much we can do about it.
However, if it is a URL like you used to demonstrate you will do well
to use the GDP stylesheet gdp-both.dsl which you will find in the
handbook for the GDP (http://www.gnome.org/gdp) - in this dsssl sheet
I have made it by default make all urls into footnotes for print
documentation. This will print the name you give it in the paragraph -
like 'Gnome Website' and at the bottom you get a footnote - 'Gnome
Website - http://www.gnome.org'. By the way, this makes ps processing
*very* slow.
As for other things, like strings of long pathnames - there is not
much more you can do except changing the paragraph sizes in the dsssl
which is not a trivial thing to do document by document.
Blame TeX, blame Jadetex not being able to machine generate 'good TeX'
whatever that is.
