Sorry about being a bit late in joining the discussion.
Anyway you look at it, i.e. the numbers, or the numbers transcribed into
wording: It's a lot of information to be processed by the brain.

So as Ole already suggested, a graphical representation is the right way
to present a lot of info in one go.

Another possibility using words would perhaps be to just let the program
compute the times and present a number of those to the user (the
difficult part for the programmer would be to decide how many he would
present to the user).

The example above would become something like:

The ls command will (initially) run at the following dates and times:
2004-01-03 02:01
2004-02-03 02:01
2004-03-03 02:01
2004-04-03 02:01
etc.
.
.
.
