Phonetics spelling is supported in Danish.
We use the same phonetic alphabet but we add three more entries to fit the three special Danish vowels:
Æ: Ægir
Ø: Ødis
Å: Åse
It would be nice to add support for this in case we ever do have a speech synthesis engine that speaks Danish. But I have no idea of how to do it? Since this would be a one time thing maybe a large dictionary could be build by hand. So that you announce (over email) and write (as a comment in the .po-file) that additions to the phonetic alphabet can be emailed to a devel in some specified way and then he adds it to this dictionary. One solution that will definitely NOT work is to include everything for all languages in the .po-file because that will mean that we will all have a large number of untranslated strings in it.
