dasher gives "Can't generate POT file, using old one." error on the status page

Hello everybody
I'm about to start translating dasher. But it gives three different errors on out statuspage:

http://l10n.gnome.org/languages/da/gnome-2-18

Now I've been told that these two:
"Following files are referenced in either POTFILES.in or POTFILES.skip, yet they don't exist: Src/Gtk2/Menu.cc"

"There are some missing files from POTFILES.in: Src/Gtk2/dasher.compose.glade"
aren't really important, but simply a matter of missing maintenance.

But I would like it if somebody could explain the last one to me:

"Can't generate POT file, using old one."
before I start translating, because if it is using an old POT file then am I risking translating something that has already been translated before?

And on a more general note, are we supposed to report the errors generated on the statuspage somewhere, because we've got quite a few of those?
