And now you know what this means. A group of programmers using their
silly aestheic to override the HIG and apply the same rules to all
software they localize. Nonsense! Those software don't even use the
same typographical considerations for msgids.

It's acceptable for DEs/OSes not focusing on design like M$ Woe to use
such convention, but for those who care like OS X, iOS and GNOME this
is B.S.

If you use a silly typeface, you get silly output everywhere. GNOME is
not the place for workarounds for problems with ancient bugs.

Apple uses the correct ellipses for their products, and nobody
complained about that usage. There were complaints regarding their old
font selection Heiti SC for its thin weight and poor optimization for
screen, but they fixed it by switching to a new typeface.
