Hello all,
I am having a not-so-nice time here. I am trying to install gnome 0.30,
but I am running into problems with libgtk, libgdk, and libglib. Here is
what packages I have installed (relating to this):
[root@crush gtktemp]# rpm -q gtk+
gtk+-1.1.2-1
[root@crush gtktemp]# rpm -q glib
glib-1.0.1-3
glib-1.1.3-1
[root@crush gtktemp]# rpm -q glib10
glib10-1.0.6-1
[root@crush gtktemp]# rpm -q gtk+10
gtk+10-1.0.6-1
But when I try to install the packages, I get errors:
[root@crush gtktemp]# rpm -ivh *.rpm
failed dependencies:
libgdk-1.1.so.1 is needed by balsa-0.4.5-1
libglib-1.1.so.0 is needed by balsa-0.4.5-1
libgtk-1.1.so.1 is needed by balsa-0.4.5-1
libgdk-1.1.so.1 is needed by gmc-4.1.35-3
libglib-1.1.so.0 is needed by gmc-4.1.35-3
libgtk-1.1.so.1 is needed by gmc-4.1.35-3
libgdk-1.1.so.1 is needed by gnome-guile-0.27-1
libglib-1.1.so.0 is needed by gnome-guile-0.27-1
libgtk-1.1.so.1 is needed by gnome-guile-0.27-1
When I query the packages from the RPM Manager, it does in fact confirm
these error messages: libgdk-1.1.so.1, libglib-1.1.so.0, etc, are all not
present. I carefully rechecked the gnome requirments page for Red Hat
5.1, and I queried each package listed, and they are all installed. Can
anyone help me out here? Thanks!
